What is aKneadforPaws?


aKneadforPaws is rooted in the belief that animals physical, spiritual and emotional well being is benefitted by a Holistic approach of complimentary care in addition to proper veterinary services. As humans we have a Need (Knead) for Pause (Paws) in order to recharge, reflect, maintain balance or heal. I believe that animals, especially family pets, have that same instinctual desire. In nature animals are incredible self healers and are able to adapt to their environments to survive. Our pets have this information embedded within their ancestral essence but no longer live the life where they can hide, rest and heal themselves as they once did. Many of our pets do not get enough mental stimulation and are under exercised despite our best efforts as owners to meet their needs. aKneadforPaws helps your dog(s) live better and live longer by stimulating the mind and providing the entire body with a therapeutic massage that will supplement their current exercise routine or promote healing where needed. aKneadforPaws doesn’t forget about you the owner. As dog owners we know how beneficial our pets are in our lives. They seem to understand us, they give us love and provide a comfort that is hard to find anywhere else. That is why I have created aNeedforPause packages that allow you to share the healing experience with (or without) your pet(s). Packages include you, the owner, and provide a healing Reiki session to help you find balance and maintain optimal health and can be scheduled alone or combined with a scheduled canine appointment.

  • I respect an animal’s decision to accept or refuse any treatment

  • I allow each animal to choose how and where to receive his/her massage or energy work

  • I share information with the owner before and during the massage. This includes the benefits of massage as well as what to expect during and after the session

  • I provide a clear policy regarding fees, length of treatment and cancellation

  • I never diagnose. I will always refer clients to a licensed veterinarian when appropriate

  • I honor the privacy of the animals and their owners

  • I continually educate myself to maintain and enhance my professional competence so that I uphold the integrity of my profession

  • I consider myself an ally to the veterinary and animal health community. I work to support their efforts in achieving annual wellness and balance. I respect other disciplines and their practitioners.
